Some tutors ask us why our membership costs a fee. They wonder why we charge to become a tutor with us instead of accepting them based on their qualifications, then pay them a salary etc. Well, here's why:

The reason why we charge a small fee to be listed on our website is exactly that: our tutors are listed on our webpages, just like they would, if they were to be listed in a newspaper, the Yellow Pages etc. You see, we are basically an advertising entity, like an ad agency. We list tutors, or rather, tutor profiles on our webpages, so that people will have unlimited and free access to those profiles at all times, to be able to contact those tutors. We don't charge those seekers, as we often call them, for a search for a tutor. The search and the contact are FREE! It is totally free - free of charge - to seek a tutor in a particular subject, on our website, and completely complimentary to contact any tutor or tutors at any time!

Moreover, we don't hire the tutors for our students. The students and parents and anybody who needs a tutor, hire our tutors themselves - directly. They deal directly with our tutors, negotiate the hourly rates with them, pay directly to the tutors, and pay us nothing! The tutors that are listed on our website, collect their fees directly from their students or parents and don't have to pay us anything from their earnings, no commission or percentage etc. Everything that they earn, is theirs to keep - ALL OF IT! Our tutors are independent - we only list them on our website and make sure they get the exposure that they need, in order to receive requests for tutoring from potential students.

There is no limit to the number of student requests that our tutors can get. We don't limit them to only, say, one message per week or per month. Whenever tutoring is needed in their area, whenever the students need a tutor and are interested in one of our tutor's tutoring service, they are able to send that tutor a message.

Now you see why we charge our tutors a small membership fee to be listed with us. Now it makes a lot more sense to you. Your membership fee will keep us going, it helps us with our advertising campaign and marketing costs. We insure that our site is always 'up there' on search engines and all over the Internet, so that parents and students will easily find it and access our tutor profiles, so that they can send them messages. Think of our website as a newspaper with ads, ads for tutoring, if you will. You pay for 'space', you pay to be listed. The consumers - the seekers - don't have to pay to browse in its ads; only advertisers - our tutors - pay to be advertised.

And it's a great deal, too! Where are you going to find such an incredibly low-cost advertising medium? Try to place an ad in your local newspaper and see how much it will run you. And everyone looks for stuff on the Net nowadays, tutoring and tutors included, everyone! Everyone has a computer with Internet access, you got schools in your area with kids and students needing help in school - tutoring - and so they will be looking on the Internet for tutors - for you - FOR FREE.
